What is DID number?
Also called: direct inward dialling
A DID number is a phone number that routes directly to a system or extension rather than through a switchboard.
For outbound calling it is the number your customer sees, and the one a regulator associates with your traffic.
Why it matters for Indian calling. Promotional traffic in India is expected to originate from designated number series. Using an ordinary mobile number for bulk promotional calling is how numbers get disconnected.
