What is Average handle time?
Also called: AHT
Average handle time is the mean duration of a call, including everything needed to complete it.
It is the number most directly tied to cost in per-minute pricing, which makes it easy to optimise for at the expense of the outcome.
Why it matters for Indian calling. A shorter call that books nothing is not cheaper. Judge AHT against booked outcomes, not on its own.
