What is DPDP Act?

Also called: Digital Personal Data Protection Act

The DPDP Act is India's personal data protection law, setting requirements for lawful basis, notice, consent and the right to withdraw consent when handling personal data.

For calling operations it covers the contact list, the recording, the transcript and anything derived from them. Consent for one purpose does not extend to another, and withdrawal must be actionable in practice.

Why it matters for Indian calling. Recordings and transcripts are personal data. Being able to export and delete them on request is an obligation, not a feature.
